The Future...

In this one week, no less then 3 people have asked me (talk about coincidence!!) about furthering my studies in Masters Degree. I've personally been avoiding this question hoping that I do not have to study anymore... (I kinda feel lazy..)

But I believe its the right step for me if I were to continue on in my career and develop myself. Question now is..

WHERE??
WHEN??
WHAT??

Argh... Have been searching high and low for courses through the net... Some that spark interest. Others that just makes me want to think twice about what I'm doing...

At the crossroads here... Really do not know what and how..

Lord, give me wisdom.

Ciao.

Princess (by Matthew Robinson)

This song found on Youtube is a treasure indeed :)

Ally, found a counterpart video named "Boyband" by the same writer and I had a field time laughing.. (If you want to see just search the name and the artist in Youtube.

But the song that I want to draw your attention to is the one entitled princess. Very fun to watch and animated as well. And the words.... PRICELESS..

Basically, this song is a summary of my childhood. Here it is:-

PRINCESS ~ by Matthew Robinson

Ever since I was the age of 5
I've had a quiet dream
That a man of worth on a great white stead
Would come and rescue me
See I wasn't under privileged
My family was always with me
But instead of watching Sesame Street
I had what some may call,
A small obsessive urge for Disney

Now please understand
A magic carpet and a lamp
Are accessories to treasure indeed
So if you happen to find
Aladdin's search of divine
Pass his number on to me
I think he lost mine

If I met a beast
A hairy laud to say the least
Whose inner beauty made up for the smell
Would it be too much for me
To get his dancing rockery
And have him turn out HOT as well
Its only fitting

Would it be so unconventional
To want life to be two dimensional
Its not erotic, its melodic, it’s a state of mind.

If I met a king who was a lion who could sing
I might try to wet his appetite
And with a crown on his head
And his lioness in bed
He'd feel the love tonight
Once we were married

I could be a little mermaid in the sea
And a have a daddy with a trident in hand
And I could get the man,
Sell my soul and wreck the land
He still would understand
Its only justice

Life would be so less deflated
If it were a little more animated
I'll get my happy, get my sappy
Any day of the week

Disney princess always gets the pretty songs to sing
And all I'm asking for is the kind of love that's worth key changing

One girl left a slipper on a step
And a prince came running effortlessly
But I could set glue, and leave a business card or two
He still would not find me
It isn't funny!

But I can wait!
Even princess can relate
I'm sure he's running to me desperately
Till he arrives, I'll get my Disney from the store
Unwrap a box and spread them on the floor
And pray to Walt that if won't be long before
A brand new Hercules, hits the screen!!

Now, the lyrics posted my not be very accurate as it is based on my listening. Anyway, after listening to this song over and over again, it totally gave me the "Disney" urge and I actually watched Sleeping Beauty (yes the cartoon) on Youtube... The whole thing!! hehehe..

Okay.. Here's the video for those of you curious enough to watch.

P.s.: Here's to all our fun filled childhood. Never forget it.. Cheers!!

Allygator (via Phoebe Simon)

Recently, one of my youth members took a big step in life where she migrated with her mum to Down Under. It was a whirlwind of farewells (practically almost everyday) left and right, front and back, up and down (okay okay... you get the idea)..

Anyway, Ally, I'll miss you sooooooo much and I know many friends that you've made along the years will miss you too.

Another one of my youth members wrote a poem for her and I thought it very appropriate to share it here with you all (yes, I have asked for permission). So here it is:-

Later, Allygator  (by Phoebe Simon)

It was just in time,
that a year ago, I came to meet sunshine.
She was the brightest thing ever,
A girl who moves mountains with her prayers.

There's a skill she perfected,
She puts smiles on everyone she affected.
There's something about that bubbly nature of hers,
It's a known fact, Ally's highly infectious!

I'm sure you know by now,
That I havent had enough of you,
Your bright light and oh wow,
Your funny language too.

But now off you go,
To the land down under,
Oh love, dont you know?
It's the right place for my allygator.

But please, dont you dare,
Look back and start to tear,
I know it's a different jungle out there,
Just remember, He'll never leave you astray.

Now look out, world,
So amazed you'll be,
To see what you're about to see,
Because here's a girl with a ton of strength,
Our sweetest little Ally Eng.

So here's to you dearest Ally. Make the best of your stay there in Australia. I'm sure I speak on behalf of all that we'll be looking forward to your coming back HOME...

Ciao.

p.s.: Here's to all who are missing loved ones abroad. Cheers.

For Chabo dearest...

For dearest friend who turns 27.. (that's one cool number yo....)

Today someone climbs a year,
And sets her life in gear,
My dearest dearest friend, do not fear,
For here I'm going to make it clear:

Your friendship to me is just so priceless,
My love for you is just endless,
Even if your looks and (*ahem*) body make me "jealous",
Christine dear, you are still so precious.

What I'm really trying to say is,
A very blessed birthday sis,
Have fun today, I beg you please
And now, from me to you, a birthday kiss!

MUAHKS!!

Love ya babes!! Happy birthday!!

Ciao.

p.s.: Here's to all turning 27 or have turned 27.. I'll be catching up soon!! ;) Cheers

Impromptu fun!

Was at choir, saw my mum talking to An.Karen Rose..

They shared a moment.. and laughed.. and my heart was moved.. I immediately went over and asked them to join us for dinner.. She said yes.. :)

Dinner at venue was awesome!! (Saw other church members there too!!) A visit to Starbucks sealed the deal! (Caleb = Dark Mocha)

"tapau-ed" the coffee, went back home and had Wii session... INSANE!! I nearly beat "Special Child" in baseball!! Hahaha... but it was an awesome night.. Totally unplanned and spontaneous..

Sometimes life needs a little jolt. Thank you God...

ciao.

p.s. Here's to the Roses.. You guys are awesome...

Silence

Pain.. Hurt.. and Abandonment is what is felt...

A friendship once filled with joy now is but a "hello" only... Laughter and shrieks that used to fill the void of conversations now filled with silence...

Oh the agony...

Yet there is want of hope that all this is a just dream.. an imagination..

Please Lord, let it not be true...

A little indulgence...

:) Heya all...

Here's a little indulgent post from me.. Have been watching Criminal Minds on Fox Channel the past few weeks and over that period of time have started getting hooked to the show.. (i know.. Its one of my guilty pleasures.. hehe) AND.... I think one of the actors in it is "gorjus".. huhu...

I told my colleague about the "gorjus" actor and the both of us today went searching him up in google.. *grin*.. But even so, I like the show more.. Its really interesting how the police profilers solve the problem based on behavioural action.. Quite engaging..

Anyway, here's a (*ahem!!*) nice photo of the actor.. Shemar Moore *wink*

Vero, this picture is dedicated to you :)

Okay... I guess that's enough indulgence for now..

Bye y'all!!

Ciao.

p.s. Here's to all Criminal Minds fans out there.. Take care!

Breath of God

Sometimes, at my age you might think that you're wiser in years... (ahem!)

But then God brings me back down to earth through younger people whom share their random thoughts of the world and God... And many times, these youth show such wisdom beyond their years... Here's and example:

QUOTE:

''When God wants to turn a situation from despair to delight, all He has to do isBREATHE into it. The aspirate (the letter ''h'' ) is inserted in Abram's and Sarai's names, thus indicating that the breath of God was at work. (unquote: He gave them a son when they were ancient.quote again: He does the same with the word ''impossible''. He breathes into it and it becomes ''Him-possible''.''

- excerpt from Cover to Cover. Day 13.

I read that today and it really made me realise the depth of this little extracted note. All things are possible for God. All things. All. He only has to breathe and things will go His way. When I breathe, nothing much happens (except gaseous exchanges and the replenishing of cellular energy).

But when He breathes, mountains tremble (I SAID MOUNTAINS TREMBLE!), oceans roar, the sick are healed, the wicked are removed, hope is restored. All things are possible for God.That is such a crazy, crazy, out-of-this-world, mind-boggling, heart-soaring statement but thankfully, it is also the truth.

It's too good AND it's true! So let's have a little more faith, people!

The writer of this blog is not only young...But very very WISE... It really brings home the verse from Timothy:

"Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for believer in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity." -1 Timothy 4:12-

Ciao.

p.s. Here's to all the young people out there.. Be a great influence to those around you.. :) Take care

10.10.10

I knew many people would make a big deal about this date because it was the "triple 10". Many we talking about getting married on this auspicious day and random posts on facebook showed that people really do take note of this day.

I personally didn't think much about it and didn't really want to associate with it at all. Then the news came. My long time friend from UNIMAS days was proposed to by her boyfriend!! So I guess this day became special to me too!! :)

Anyway, a video of the whole proposal was uploaded to YouTube and when I watched it, it brought me a little tears and suddenly had the urge to write her something. And so I did; here it is: -

For Grace:

Oh! What a joyous day it is,
To see my friend Grace in bliss
One thing for sure I know is this
Dear Grace you've got your wish

At the dining table her hand lay
10.10.10 seemed like a normal day
Till the restaurant pressed the button "PLAY"
Her eyes blossomed like it was the month of May

The pictures popped up one by one
It reminded her of all the fun
Then came these group of young guns
With bright smiles that outshine the sun

Balloons and cheers filled the air
The MAN walked in without a fear
For he knew that this WOMAN he dearly cared
Would forever now be his pair

With a bouquet of flowers he gave her a kiss
And took out a box and planted his knee
The face of the girl was full of glee
Then came out the words "Marry me, Please?"

The rest of the story is as they say
I won't have it any other way
For Grace and Ah Fai made this their day
On 10.10.10! Hip hip! Hooray!!

Congratulations Grace!!

♥ Sarah

I guess that's all from me for now. Congratulations again Grace :) So happy for you!!

Ciao.

p.s. Here's to all who have been engaged before or just did :) Cheers!!

Extraction 3

Hello people!!

Its a new day, a new week at work (hmph!!) , but most importantly, a new post to write!! (yay!)

Okay, fine. Not exactly. Its another one of my extractions from my other blog. This time the post is a light one just to show how naturally clumsy I am :)

Here it is:-

Mah Poor Leg… (March 16, 2007)

Heya people..

Two weeks ago, I actually fell down a flight of stairs near my hostel (yes I know.. clumsy me).. And me being me, I ignored the fall and went on with life..

Now two weeks after the fall and with many jogging outings and tennis sessions, my leg decides to give me a lesson. It went numb! Mah poor leg!! (Fine.. it’s actually just my small toe on the right leg.. hee).

Anyway, since these few days I am in Penang, I thought I had better get some help or proper treatment. So my friend’s mother brought me to the place where they have some herbal paste for injuries. I gave it a try but I don’t know how effective the medicine is… Can only update you the progress in a few days time.

*Sigh*

Here’s how it looks

Dsc02513_1

Funny huh? It looks like a "pau".. Don’t be alarmed, the brownish colour is not blood.. It’s just the herbal paste.. Honestly, this is the first time my leg (sorry, i meant feet) has been bandaged up like that.. This in itself is an experience for me.. hehe..

Okaylah, I guess I had better make a move.

That’s all from me today.. Will be waiting for tomorrow morning to unwrap the bandage (Yay!!)

Take care,

Chao.

p/s: Here’s to all who has been injured, are injured and will be injured… greetings

*******************************

*Sigh*

Those were the days I could actually play tennis and get injured from it.. But nowadays, my "trying to be fit" activities consists of swimming and dancing lessons.. A far cry from my tennis days...

Well, I don't mind it though. Learning dance has opened up a whole new world for me. Its simply amazing. You should try it too..

As for the update, my lil' toe is doing absolutely fine.. And yes, I can feel it too. :)

Ciao.

p.s. Here's to all who are trying new things in life.. Make it worthwile :)

Creative..

Recently,

two of my youth members had to complete a poem for their English class. The teacher got the whole class to think of a word and write it down. One of them chose "DANCE", the other "AWESOME".. Outcome? Two very different poems that showed the creativity within them.

For this time around, I'm going to share the poem by the first girl. When I read through it, it exactly described my feelings about dance. (Recently I started taking classes and I'm really enjoying myself)

Alright, enough said, here is the poem:

DANCE ~ by Pan Eu Fern

One and two and three and four,

What is it like on the dance floor?

Something quite different, unlike anything before,

A whole new dimension to indulge and explore.

Dance is a passion, fueled by determination,

It’s more than just physical action.

It stirs up the strongest of any emotion,

An art so special, no words can mention.

A step, a pointe, a twirl to the right,

Movements precise, body firm and tight.

Of course, it can’t all be learned in one night,

It takes time, and all of one’s might.

A dancer’s balance and rhythm must be steady,

Her posture upright, she cannot appear lazy.

You see, dancing ain’t all happy and smiley,

It takes a lot of hard work, it’s not easy.

Discipline must come from within a dancer,

To master her steps, to do better.

That, with guidance from a gifted instructor,

Even the most intricate dance she can master.

But who am I to say all this,

For I am but a mere novice.

But I’ll show that I’m no immature miss,

I can, and will, succeed in this.

For I have found immense joy within my core,

As if on fire, I crave for more.

I will keep dancing, even with knees sore,

To satiate my desire for dancing lore.

Beautiful isn't it?? Such creativity at a young age.

Eu Fern, you inspire me.

Ciao.

p.s. Here's to all the aspiring dancers out there. Cheers.

Run for the Nation (Sarawak Edition)

Heya..

Its a new day and lovely one at that.. :)

After a late start to the day, (woke up early, did some work then decided to sleep again, and woke up only at 12pm.. hehe) I'm back to my laptop writing this new post.

My post today is focused on a special event happening in exactly one weeks time. (so excited!!) :-

Run For Sarawak

This event is actually a National run that started in 2007 where Christians in Malaysia had a burden to pray for the country and paired it up with running to make it a special event. I joined the RunNat family last year (2009) as the Sarawak contact as they decided to make the run nationwide. It was SUCH an experience and now, I'm already helping out in 3 runs altogether, this upcoming run being the 3rd.

Basically, this is what RunNat is all about:-

RunNat… RunNat… RunNat… Not only had the sportsmen been talking about it since the first RunNat event in 2007, even God’s people are excited about it because Run For The Nation is the first-of-its-kind prayer event that combines the passion for running and the desire to intercede for our beloved nation. It’s the one thing that everyone can do together as family of God despite our age differences, background divergence and various personalities. In prayer, we are one in Christ. And through prayer, we can make a difference.

Run For The Nation (friendly known as RunNat) is a single morning running event that sees Christians praying as they run throughout selected areas in the city or town where the event is held. The Runners are grouped into teams of three and each Team is required to cover a 5km run of a preselected route passing by homes, schools, commercial areas, government buildings, religious sites and other places of interest. As the Team runs, one will lead in prayer while the other two will agree. With the aim to cover most grounds, the Run adopts the relay style by using Prayer Cards in replacement of batons.

In short, RunNat is about gathering God’s people to pray and intercede together for Malaysia by physically running across the areas which we pray for to bless the place with God’s blessing and anointing. We believe that this simple act of prayer will make a difference because our God is One who answers prayer.

Exciting stuff isn't it? :)

Well, next week's run is a special edition run for this year (The full scale run throughout Malaysia was done in May in conjuction with Global Day of Prayer). The run focuses on Sarawak. A team from West Malaysia is coming down to Kuching (WOOT!! WOOT!!) to join hands with the Kuching runners to pray for Sarawak and the current issues regarding this state.

I'm so honoured to be part of this event and I hope that you all will be too!!

For those who would like to take part, you can ask me more about this event through the comment box or come join the prayer group that will be held in conjunction with the run.

Ciao.

p.s. Here's to all the RunNat family out there. Y0u all INSPIRE me..

Single all this while?

[NOTE: This post is an extraction from my old blog]

This post was extracted because one of my youth member came across it the other day she said it is exactly how she feels right now. It struck me how words written 3 years ago even though forgotten, can still impact others. And its mainly because of this I'm picking up blogging again. To make a difference...

Single all this while? (March 15, 2007)

As of this year, I will be turning 23 officially.. Not NOW but one day down the road this year :)
And as most people my age would understand, it is at about this time when the evermore famous question will start to come out…
“So ah, any boyfriend yet?”
*Sigh*
Is that all that can come across the mind of generally almost everyone when I mention that I’m 22 going on 23? Is it? Where is the hope of mankind? (okay… that sounded a little bit toooo drastic.. hehe)
And then to make matters worse, the question doesn’t just end there. It continues with a string of other “investigative” questions…
“So.. ah, any boyfriend yet? Who arh? When together? Settling down? Tell me everything ah!”
Right.
Why so pumped up about this question? Well, the other night ( I won’t mention when) I had a conversation with some people ( I won’t mention who) and they asked me theexact same question.. Of course not same words but the meaning is the same mah…
So I answered them…
“I don’t have a boyfriend and I NEVER did have one.”
They all (and there were quite a few of them) couldn’t believe the words that were coming out of my mouth..
Yes people… I am single.. And I have always been single.. From the day I was born until now. (Sheish.. I sound like a desperate advertisement). What is sooooo hard to believe about that? Many people go through the same situation that I do.. Some of the people I talk to still believe that I am pulling their legs..
Well, here is what I feel about singlehood at the moment…
First, I’m not tied down with commitment which means that I’m able to move around quite flexibly without worrying about slowing people down or people slowing me down.Next, I’m still young and by being single a little longer, I’m able to make more friends and thus able myself to widen my “choices”.. Hehe
Thirdly, with my situation back home in Kuching, being single now is the best thing because I can put my full attention towards helping my mom look after my dad. Lastly, this is the time where I can also focus on myself and get to know who I am and what I can be. To discover my potential on my own (of course have aid from above lar…).
I’m not saying that it is bad to be in a relationship. If you are in a relationship, good for you.. I’m also happy for you.. Is just that, I don’t understand why is it sooo difficult for people to believe that I have never had a boyfriend.. Its not that I don’t want… I do.. but just not now.
Okay, enough said.
Ciao.
p.s. Here’s to all single people (whether by choice or not), enjoy it while you can. Here’s also to those who are in a relationship, cherish every moment that you have. Take care.
*******************************************

Well, now at the age of 25, I'm still single but my stance has changed. I do feel that I'm ready for a relationship but I know that will come when God thinks its the right time. Till then, I'll just wait patiently :)

Ciao.

p.s. Here's to those who are waiting for the ONE. Be patient. The Good Lord will provide. Take care.

Cute..

When life throws you lemon, you make lemonade.. :)

When I throw students Biology. They give me a birthday wish... ;)

I have this student..

He's one of the creative few in the class and can throw really random comments that will catch you off guard. Yesterday was my birthday. And recently I taught them about Digestive system and the organs that are involved in the process.. He basically used his KNOWLEDGE :)

Here's the wish:

"Happy Birthday Miss Sarah :) God has blessed you with 3 perfect pairs of salivary glands. Use it to proclaim His word"

HAHAHAHA... I mean, how cute can Biology get?!! Apparently, very very cute.. So funny yet appropriate at the same time.. Totally brightened up my day..

Who said getting older wasn't fun.. :)

Ciao.

p.s. Here's to all celebrating their Birthdays.. Have fun

Extraction... :)

Yes.. yes.. I know my title sounds like something that came out from the Chemistry text book... But before you close the window on this, my title really says what I mean.. (come on.. give it a read..)

Well, as my last post said, I'm giving blogging another try, I thought, I should merge the information of my other blog here. As my computer skills is pretty much zilch (zero), I'll just extract the information in a copy and paste manner..

I won't be putting all of the posts here, but only bring your attention to certain ones that I think is important enough to be featured ;)

To have a first hand view of it, go ahead and CLICK.

That's it from me for now, enjoy the reading below :)

Here's one of the first that I wrote when in UUM,

Date: March 11, 2oo7
Title: Joy...

Sing along to this song if you know it… :)

The Joy of the Lord is my strength

The Joy of the Lord is my strength

The Joy of the Lord is my strength

The Joy of the Lord is my strength

If you want joy you must ________ for it

If you want joy you must ________ for it

If you want joy you must ________ for it

The joy of the Lord is my Strength

This song has been in my music archive ever since I was able to sing.. But although a childhood memory, it has never been so real to me as it is to me now..

The blank line that I placed in the song is usually changed according to the actions.. The usual words that fill it are: -

i) shout

ii) laugh

iii) clap

iv) jump

Many more words can be used to fill it..

Why out of the blue this song? I don’t know.. Seriously..

What word would I use to fill in the blank? PRAY

Prayer has always been my weakness in my spiritual life.. I admit it now. Openly to all of you.. I’ve at times slack so much in my prayer life that it makes me feel ashamed of myself.. I hold so much responsibilities in church, youth, school, at home and everywhere else but when it comes to the simple responsibility of praying, I fail.. All this while, I’ve been living such a lie.. Most of the time I pray for the sake of praying but without much participation in the prayer, making them just mere, useless words only.

My current 10 month detour to Kedah has taught me such importance of prayer.. Without prayer we are useless because the basic interaction between us and our Heavenly Father is stagnant.. When studying psychology and sociology we all know that interaction and conversation is the basic necessity in every relationship. There is no difference when it comes to our relationship with God. He wants us to worship and commune with Him..

Boy, have I been ignorant about this all this while..

Looking back on the sermon given by Un. Thomas Chung a few days ago in Alor Setar really struck home as well.. He kept pounding on the verse Romans 8:26.

Romans 8:26

“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express,"

My dear friends,

How true the word of God is.. There are nights here in Kedah that I do feel down and probably as bad as depressed. When hopelessness comes upon me, I would crawl onto my bed and curl up and just cry out Jesus’s name. Tears and sounds come out but not a word.. Yet, I feel comforted.. I feel God’s presence.. I feel God holding me and cuddling me.. I feel PEACE..

In such agony, the Holy Spirit prays for us. When we just do not know what to say, he says it for us.. He prays for us..

Dearest everyone,

I feel a burden to share this with everyone. Let prayer become a habit in our life. Someone once mentioned:

“Martin Luther prays for three hours.. I will never pray longer than half an hour but I will never go for more than half an hour without prayer.”

Wonderful words that we should keep at heart.

Take care all,

God Bless,

Ciao.

p/s: Here’s to all who needs a little encouragement; God Bless. May the Joy of the Lord be our Strength. :)
